Trying to get RocketRAID 2302 working

Featured Replies

Hope this is a good place to ask. This is about unraid 4.7. I saw that the RocketRAID 2300 is supported. So, somehow I thought that because of that being supported and the RocketRAID 2302 also uses the Marvell 88SX7042 chipset it would work.

Well the following comes up in syslog

the first thing that concerned me was:

Aug 29 12:18:58 store1st kernel: sata_mv: Highpoint RocketRAID BIOS CORRUPTS DATA on all attached drives, regardless of if/how they are configured. BEWARE! (Drive related)

Aug 29 12:18:58 store1st kernel: sata_mv: For data safety, do not use sectors 8-9 on "Legacy" drives, and avoid the final two gigabytes on all RocketRAID BIOS initialized drives. (Drive related)

then in red:

Aug 29 12:18:58 store1st kernel: ata1.00: failed to IDENTIFY (I/O error, err_mask=0x40) (Errors)

But then it enumerates the drives.

Looking for some ideas please.

I wonder if something like this might work:

Script to enable SATA Controllers without kernel modification

Don't know enough about what I'm doing.

below is more of a syslog portion...
