SMART not working

Featured Replies

Not sure why this won't work.

I telnet into unraid on Windows or Mac and get the root directory.

I then type: smartctl  -a  -d  ata  /dev/sda >/boot/smart.txt (or any other smart command I've found) and I always get this error message.

smartctl: error while loading shared libraries: libstdc++.so.6: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

I look on my flash directory and I don't see any files with smart in them?  I am running 4.4 Pro.

Thanks.

What is unmenu?

Can someone give me a more 'step by step'?  I tried to follow the instructions in the link but I can't get it installed.  The package downloads as a TAR and I rename to TGZ but it says it is corrupt when I try to install it?

Thanks.

The post with a good link to that library is here.  Make sure your operating system is not trying to 'help' you by unzipping or unpacking the file.  Within the .tgz is a .tar, but you only want to download it as a .tgz, and no renaming is necessary or wanted.  You might try your 'Save link to ...' option (if using Firefox) or whatever is similar.

Here is UnMENU.

Another option is to upgrade to the latest, unRAID v4.5-beta3, which *does* include the library.  A number of users are using it without problems, so it seems solid.
