Docker and S3 Sleep

Featured Replies

Hi Guys,

i just want to switch over to unRaid v6 so i can also use Docker technology.

But one thing is bugging me, while i can use S3 sleep under v5 with Sabnzbd etc. without any problems will that also be possible while using docker?

Or would the Docker containers "hang" after wakeup? Has anybody tried this till now?

Would love to hear some experiences about this too ...

Only tried it till now with a MariaDB Docker and it is working fine.

Problem seems here that many are living in countries with very low rates for electrical energy, so letting a 20+ Drive Monster run 24/7 seems to be no issue, if your are not from the old continent  ;D

Thanks for the reply, will have to do some testing myself I guess when I get the chance.

As per the electricity costs, my server consumes only 23 watts with drives spun down yet I still find it very much worth it to save some energy. After all it doesn't need to be available 90% of the time and it consumes under 10% of minimum online energy when in S3. Being able to put it in standby is actually one of the main reasons I chose unRAID.

This was my experience moving to v6.  S3 sleep worked flawlessly for me in v5 but was intermittent in v6, since purchasing an Intel NIC I'm happy again

As far as dockers I'm running, sabnzbd, nzbdrone, 2 x couch potato, headphones, mariadb, kodi-headless, deluge and syncthing.

Thanks for sharing that, as i see Docker works as good with S3 like the conventional Plugins did, as long as you ignore the cache drive in the S3 script.

Do you mind sharing your build?  I would love to run around 20 watts with drives spun down.  Thanks!
