If anyone else on here is a bitcoin user, you'll know why full nodes are important for the bitcoin network. This page sums it up quite well: http://www.coindesk.com/bitcoin-nodes-need/.

Obviously this wouldn't be used as a wallet, just as a node.

 

There are bitcoin docker images out there, but its a little beyond my capabilities to get this running on unraid.

I had something running about a month ago. I'm not sure how easy it would be to turn into a simple docker for an unraid end user. I could look at it. At the very least I could probably help you run the commands in a shell and understand what it's doing.

I haven't had a lot of time to play with it and get anything working. But I did find the instructions I followed before so if you wanted to try and fumble through it in an advanced way I would check it out here: https://registry.hub.docker.com/u/kylemanna/bitcoind/

 

 

I'd like to make something more user friendly if I ever can find the time. But don't hold your breath.
