So I just upgraded to Unraid 6 and have started experimenting with xen and having Windows 7/8 VM's.

Now I need a new machine.

I think I know the answer but want some verification.

Steps.

On current config change unraid to startup with array stopped. (Make Note of all Disk Designations on current setup)

Move all drives to new setup and boot from the Unraid USB

Verify all disks are in proper locations.

Start Array.

 

Will there be any issues with Hardware differences between my current box?

I don't believe there are any configs / files that reference the specific hardware that would cause a conflict with getting the array back on line. Let me know if I am wrong please.

 

Are there any issues with drives that were on External PCIe Sata controllers vs the Mobo Bus changing with in the new setup?
