rescan-scsi-bus stopped working sometime between the last RC and 6.01

Hello, I used to run rescan-scsi-bus when attaching an external escsi drive in order for unRaid to detect it.  The process took about 1 second.  This no longer works :(.  The process gets stuck and just hangs: 

 

root@TOWER:/mnt/user/Files# rescan-scsi-bus -l

Any ideas?
