rescan-scsi-bus stopped working sometime between the last RC and 6.01

Hello, I used to run rescan-scsi-bus when attaching an external escsi drive in order for unRaid to detect it.  The process took about 1 second.  This no longer works .  The process gets stuck and just hangs:

Any ideas?

Well a reboot fixed it, let's see if it lasts.
