Unraid server not connecting with Asus RT-AC87U Router

When i connect my server to the rear port of the Asus RT-AC87U router it does not show up on my network and is not accessible. Now if i plug it into my network switch after the router then it works fine. I'm sure there must be a setting on the router that i need to set, but have had no luck understanding what needs to be done. I hope some one can help.
