January 28, 201610 yr So from what I have been reading KVM can use ballooning (as long as the VM supports ballooning) to adjust the memory if the host needs more memory. So my next question is would it make sense to give my VMs more memory with the thought that if unRAID or other VMs need the memory it will adjust in realtime? So an example (I have 16GB of RAM) would this work? Name Memory (Max) Current Memory VM1: Windows 10 12 GB 4GB VM2: Windows 7 12 GB 4GB VM3: Linux 2 GB 1GB VM4: pfSense 2 GB 1GB Would this work out well or would things go crazy? It would be nice if my Windows 10 VM had more than 4GB of ram available but could scale back if unRAID needed it?
