Compiling C++ Code

Featured Replies

Hey Guys,

Is it possible to use my Unraid machine to compile C++ code? and how would I go about installing the appropriate packages. I gather this would be done using GCC. I have never done this before so a step by step would be very helpful. I gather I could store the executable on my flash drive so it is not lost when I restart the server.

Some background.

I am currently running the Openremote Docker and it has been excellent for my Vera Zwave home automation equipment. I have a Harmony Hub that I use to control my IR devices in my home theatre and I am trying to integrate into Openremote.

With reference to the following site http://sourceforge.net/projects/harmonyhubcontrol/files/ the HarmonyHubControl project has developed a program in C++ to interface direct to the Harmony Hub from the command line in Linux. This is the code that I would like to compile and run on my Unraid server.

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Marty
