SimpleTech 1GB Bonzai Xpress USB 2.0 Flash Drive

Featured Replies

Will this flash drive work fine with unRAID (would you recommend it)?

Only way to know is to try...

Some off-brands do not have a unique serial number for their USB drives, or have a serial number of all zeros.  Those will not work.

Some larger size drives (1Gig and 2 Gig) will not work without some special partitioning.  I purchased a 1Gig MediaMate drive made by Sandisk and it would not boot until I used the advanced features of "fdisk" to modify what it was reporting as cylinders/heads/sectors to the operating system.  Some will only work if re-formatted using the HP tool Tom described in his setup instructions.  (It did not help on my MediaGate 1 Gig drive)

You can try your USB Flash drive using the free downloadable version of unRaid.  That is the only way to know for sure, unless somebody else has already used the exact same USB drive.    From what I've seen, smaller 128, 256 and 512 Meg drives have mostly all worked as long as they reported a good serial number. (I know, it is getting harder to find smaller drives these days)

Great price... Better than the $13 or so I paid for my 1Gig drives at Walmart.

Go for it... If they don't work, somebody will take them off your hands for $0.39 (your postage cost to mail in the rebate) ;)
