March 1, 201610 yr So... thanks to our wonderful Xeon thread, I upgraded my primary unRAID machine. I took a screen shot of the drive configuration and made sure they were all in the right place. The only difference I can think of off the top of my head is that I'm using one of the two SCU mini-SAS plugs on the mother board instead of an addon card. Today was parity check day and... I look and am astounded by the number of parity errors, 732,566,633! None of the drives are showing alarms in the dashboard. List of changes: New CPUs and MB (was AMD FX 6300 & Biostar TA970, now Intel Xeon E5-2670 x2 & Supermicro X9DR3-F-B) Removed Rocket Raid (quickboot BIOS), moved drives to SCU mini-SAS port Upgrade unRAID to 6.1.8 from 6.1.3 Installed hotfix for IOMMU groups over 32 Thoughts? I'm going through my case and checking my SATA and power connections since I'm trying to tidy up the cables in it as things aren't in always the best place (I'm looking at you 24 pin connector at the very top right when I have a bottom left mounted PSU). Edit: I think I found my problem... stopped the array, came back with THREE missing drives. Gotta be a loose connection somewhere. Edit 2: The three drives are connected the SCU port I will see if they become problematic again. If so I will be contacting Supermicro.
