May 19, 201610 yr Hello All, I have a new UnRaid build, upgraded recently to take advantage of the dockers and VMs. Currently on version 6.1.9 and running on M/B: Supermicro - X11SSM-F, CPU: Intel® Xeon® CPU E3-1240 v5 @ 3.50GHz with 32GB ram and currently using single GB-NIC port. 10 x Data/parity drives 4 TB a piece. 2 x Cache Drives Intel SSD 180gb Router is a Shaw provided Cisco DPC3825 i also have a D-Link GO-SW-5G 5-Port switch from the router to a KODI box and XBox. I run Emby media server, SickRage and Deluge as my current dockers. When any of the dockers are enabled i witness ~3-5% packet loss across my entire network. Disabling the dockers resolves the issue. I am curious if anyone has seen something similar or has any suggestions for remediation or troubleshooting? Thank you in advance.
May 20, 201610 yr A few of us have been working on some new troubleshooting tools, and you might want to try it out, tweak some of your network settings, might help. See the Tips and Tweaks wiki page, and the new Tips and Tweaks plugin to set them, introduced farther down in the Tips and Tweaks feedback thread. Just be aware that it's so new, it's not well tested yet.
May 26, 201610 yr Author I apologize for the delays I did run into some drive failure, which has since been resolved. I am still seeing packet loss with dockers running. The issue is much more prominent with Emby media server running and less so with Sickrage and Transmission. But these still cause packet loss when running. There are no identifiable issues in the systemlogs. I have corrected all the issues provided by the plugin and the many of the tips and tweaks have been applied. Disabled Network flow control Disabled Network offloading Set up static IP for UnRaid box The plugin was mostly just share configuration. Don't use both allow disk and not allow disk issues. These were resolved. No warnings are present via the plugin. I also had many AER errors these did not affect performance and i added the pci=noaer, nomsi at boot. I also enabled QoS on the router, this did provide some improvements but did not resolve the issue. I'm guessing the issue is related to network traffic/saturation but am unable to confirm. Would a new higher end switch help? Or do you have any other suggestions for further troubleshooting?
