ASRock E3C224-4L USB Problem and Related BIOS update problem

I have an ASRock E3C224-4L motherboard and in general unRAID (6.2.0-beta21) works well. One issue I have never resolved, however, is that a USB device connected to ANY internal and external USB connector only shows up on Bus 003.

Here's the output from lsusb (I added some dashes to separate each Bus):

root@unRaid:~# lsusb

In searching the ASRock Rack site, I noticed a significantly updated BIOS, version 3.20 and

it is nearly two years newer than second most recent BIOS, the 2.10 version I'm using now. I

flashed the BIOS and unRAID booted fine. In fact, lsusb showed that the motherboard type A

connector (the one with the unRAID boot stick) was now on Bus 001. But, alas, Bus 002 and Bus 004

still do not appear to be connected. More importantly, I cannot get the new BIOS to recognize

either of the GTX750ti video cards installed in the 16x PCIe slots. That is, they do not appear

when the lspci command is issued. So, of course that broke my VM's with GPU pass-through.

Ironically, the ASRock Rack website lists, "Improved PCIe device support" as a feature of the

new BIOS. I flashed back to the 2.10 BIOS and the video cards were recognized once again

and the VM's worked properly.

So, after that long-winded explanation, if anyone has unlocked the mystery of this motherboard's

USB support or has any suggestions about the video cards not being recognized under the

new BIOS, I would be most grateful. I'm sooooo close to getting a perfect unRAID setup, but

I just can't seem to articulate the search terms for the USB problem.

Sincere thanks to everyone on the forum. It really is a fantastic resource and I've overcome

most of my setup/issues here.

I sent ASRock an email about the updated BIOS issues I was having (v 3.20). I just happened to check

their website again and the v 3.20 BIOS has been removed from the available downloads. I'm hopeful that

means they are working on it.
