X10SL7-F Queries

Featured Replies

Hi, I am considering upgrading my H8DA8 motherboard with an X10SL7-F and have a few queries that I couldn't find an answer to yet :

1. Does it matter which SATA/SAS ports are used for the Parity Drive(s), SSD?

2. If I also upgrade to PWM fans (which the X10SL7-F supports) is there a way to control fan speed based on temperature in Unraid ?

3. (Not an Unraid query but thought I would ask just in case someone has info here ) I have an I2C connection on the H8DA8 to the PSU unit, will the SMB header on the H8DA8 be backward compatible  ? Does anyone know of a plugin that can monitor the SMB (I2C) bus in Unraid ?

4. I need 17 drives to be connected , what would be the recommendation for the best way to add the extra 3 SATA drives?

5. I saw in a thread that to get the best performance for multiple simultaneous VM's it is best to go for an i5 processor, which one is the most commonly used ?

6. I see that the motherboard is very choosy about RAM, what would be the safest recommendation (I need to get the components onward shipped to me overseas and sending anything back is near impossible) ?

Thank you
