Additional Cache drive assignment when first Cache drive is ReiserFS or XFS

Featured Replies

unRAID OS Version:  v6.1.9 (but may apply to any v6)

Description:  When first Cache drive is formatted as XFS or ReiserFS, system allows additional cache drives to be assigned, then attempts to mount first Cache drive as BTRFS, which can't work

How to reproduce:  With one Cache drive formatted as ReiserFS or XFS with files, stop array and assign another drive as a second cache drive, then start the array.  The existing Cache drive will be reported as unmountable.

Expected results:  With one Cache drive formatted as ReiserFS or XFS, user should be prevented from assigning additional cache drives, either by error message or disallowing additional cache slots (thereby disallowing assignments).  Help text should say that you can't add a second drive unless the first one is unformatted or formatted with BTRFS.  If it is formatted with ReiserFS or XFS, then its files need to be saved off of it, and the drive reformatted as BTRFS.

Actual results:  Additional cache drives are allowed to be assigned.  When the array is started, because there are multiple cache drives it attempts to mount the existing Cache drive as BTRFS, which fails, and the Cache drive is reported as unmountable, causing user confusion over loss of Dockers and Shares and anything else on the drive.
