Issues with install of v6

Featured Replies

Pardon my ineptness to this, but I am having nothing but problems when trying to get v6 up and running.  I have had a workable unraid server for around 6 years now, nothing complicated just simple user shares set up and plex media server running.

Upon booting into 6, my keyboard attached to the server stops working most of the time for some reason, making troubleshooting even harder.

It does boot up into 6.1.9 and tower login prompt

A couple issues I can see in the bootup process is one line says "Cannot obtain IP address", and another says "Missing /boot/config/ident.cfg"  which I have checked and that config file is indeed there on the drive from v6.

Some of the problems that you report (no keyboard and problem reading from /boot) have USB as a common factor.

If you can I would suggest trying the keyboard and flash drive in different USB slots.

If they are currently plugged into USB3 slots and you have some USB2 slots available then try them in the USB2 slots;  I think I remember that there have been some reports of a few people having compatibility problem with some flash drives in USB3 slots when using v6.

I would be one of them. My keyboard only works on USB2 slot. The same USB3 slot works fine with usb sticks but just not the keyboard.
