March 7, 200719 yr Hi, I've been trying to get unRaid to work for 2+ months now. The problem is that whenever I seem to get stable, something else creeps up. Unfortunately, whenever the machine goes awry, I get forced into a parity rebuild... this takes about 8 hours. So I'm looking for advise on the following: 1) Is there a way to take all the HDDs out of my machine, and add them back to unRaid 1 disk at a time.... without formatting and losing data. The ideal solution would be as such: a) Start with my parity drive and 1 HDD. b) Then I would perform some reads and writes to that drive to check for disc problems c) Add the second drive and repeat ... until I have all 7 data drives added. I am having random shutdown problems which I am pulling my hair out about.
