SIIG PATA or SATA controllers

I was patrolling my local Fry's store here in Austin and I picked up a SIIG PATA controller by mistake. I also noticed that the only SATA controllers they had in stock at the time were SIIG based controllers. After installing the controller I noticed that unRAID didn't recognize it. Is there any way or chance on having SIIG controllers supported? Or just return it and go with the more expensive Promise controllers?
