griff1984
Hi folks! Completely new to Linux and i'm making very slow but steady progress in setting my brand new computer up! Being a windows user my whole life getting to grips with the fact its mainly all command prompt i'm finding quite struggling but i'm getting there! The next thing that i'm struggling with is the fact i cant seem to be able to open any of my hard drives. They are all listed on the screen but every single one says "Unable to mount location - can't mount file" I know i'm probably being completely stupid and i'm missing something obvious but i'm confused as i just thought they would all open as usual (like in windows). Do i need to activate them somehow?? To confirm; I am trying to use Linux Mint Mate 18.1 I have 2 x M.2 256GB SSD (which i was hoping to use as Cache) (also installed the Linux platform on one of them) 3 x 1TB 2.5" HDD drives 1 x 4TB 3.5" HDD drive (wanting to set up eventually as a parity) None of them open when i click on them. Any help would be great thanks! Quote Link to comment
RobJ
I assume you mean you want to boot unRAID first, start/build a new unRAID array, then start a VM that runs Linux Mint? I'm going to point you to some reading and viewing first, to get a better idea how unRAID works, and how to accomplish what you want. Guides and Videos But feel free to come back with questions!
