April 1, 20179 yr Help! Came home the other day to the unraid not responding. Turned on the monitor hooked up the the unraid computer and it was at Tower with a few characters below it and wasn't responsive to any keyboard inputs. Turn off the computer and as it was restarting it stalled for a minute on one of the boot screens for the computer hardware, I believe it was a controller card that houses the sata ports I'm using. It was showing errors, but I didn't have time to catch it as it continued to the next screen. When I was able to get the tower screen in my browser it showed the parity and one other disc not found. I restarted the system from the menu. It came back up just fine and I started it to run the parity check. It ran for 2 hours before I went to bed without any errors. When I woke up this morning it wasn't working again. I turned on the monitor for the unraid and got this screen. Any help would be appreciated. I haven't changed anything on the unraid in years.
April 2, 20179 yr Author Ok I think it might be a hardware problem. When I turned the computer off the first time it happened it would turn on right away. Meaning the power supply wasn't providing power. After about 10 minutes it was able to reboot. Then when it crashed the second time I turned it back on with the case cover off and noticed the fan on the power supply wasn't spinning and the power supply was warm. It's a corsair RM850 and has silent fan mode, meaning it only turns the fan on when needed. So I turned it on tonight and it didn't spin on start up as a test, as most fans are want to do, then I let it run for about an hour. Power supply was warm and no fan. So I'll replace that and see if that does it.
