May 22, 20179 yr Hi, looking for assistance/help on making a dual VM like the one in linus tech tips. Objective: Make a system that supports windows 10 (x2) but also when not using unraid can be fully utilized as one machine. Current system: I7 7700k o.c. 5ghz 32gb ddr ram Gtx 1080 (x2) 500gb nvme (x2) 1tb data Running dual vm would split the system to 4 core 2 + 2 virtual cores 13-16 gb ram Gtx 1080 500gb nvme (os) So some questions I have are. What's the best/ speedwise way to run the system like this. So I setup the 1TB drive as the unraid host and use the nvmes as cache drives and run no parity until I get a additional drive (and what size should it be). Or can I use the NvMEs as pci additional devices as install the oses directly (to me this would seem better , is that the case?) .I do not see my nvmes as additional devices I seen it once but messing with the system now I do not. Or is it better to use the nvme as cache only not sure how the os knows to use these as main drive space. The other big question is how does the virtual machine respond to running motherboard software. Does or would it display the correct cpu temps and run normal etc? I don't mind if I need to add to the system to do this like buy additional storage etc. Would it be better to create a 3rd VM and just have that VM use all available ram and cpu. Or have a separate drive to bypass unraid and do a normal windows system boot. Any other info needed let me know. Any other advice appreciated. Thank you Edited May 22, 20179 yr by Bluwulf024
