Need help, 2 failed drives, including parity

Featured Replies

Hello,

I am having some problems. I lost a data drive and tried to replace it. But when trying to rebuild it, it looks like my parity drive is failing on me. I'm having huge numbers of read errors, seek errors, reallocated sectors, etc. So to quickly recap:

1. Data drive: Disk 2 failed. Hard drive tossed, new disk ready to be installed.

2. Parity Drive: I think it is failed. It does not appear to be able to read from it, new disk ready to be installed.

Fortunately, it's just a media server, and I'm okay with some data loss. But I don't know how to rebuild or start my array with a failed parity drive and missing/blank data drive. It will not let me start the array because the configuration is invalid. Can someone help me get my array back on line?

What unRAID version are you running? Can you post diagnostics (Tools/Diagnostics/Download)?

You say you tossed Disk 2. Does that mean you no longer have access to it? It could still be useful for recovering data, as it appears your parity drive is borked.

If you no longer have the failed disk, you'll have to use the "New Config" tool to reset your array: https://wiki.lime-technology.com/UnRAID_6_2/Storage_Management#Reset_the_array_configuration
