Joe,

I had a change to try the new web interface with the new features on a new install 4.5.1 version, Istat works great waiting to see if email works. I could wait to home and try it on may backup server. I setup the same and it works to get to the main page by entering http://servername:8080 I see all the links but when I click on any links like Disk Management, MyMain it tries to bring up the link and time out. Has this been an issue? I am running the same version 4.5.1 on the backup server. The only thing I see different on between the files on the test install and the backup server is the go file. I copied the go file from the test install to the backup server then rebooted and was not to bring up the main page to by entering http://servername:8080. It does make since to me any suggestions.

Thanks

Only time I've seen this is is you are on a MAC and did not create an entry for the server in your hosts machine.

Or, you are installing an older version of unMENU and did not un-zip all the files in the unmenu folder.

Joe,

I figure out the issue I was having, so I am passing it on. After wiping my USB key and re-installing Unraid, and putting my config's in place. I booted up Unraid was fine. Then install unmenu again, with the same issue took the key to office booted up on another machine everything worked. It could not be a hardware issue, so I went home plugged it in to the backup server and unmenu would not load again. So turn on the status bar on my browser and notice that when unmenu loads the main page it parses data from the syslog to put at the bottom of the page, it was having issue resolving back the host name.  I use on my router DHCP with reserved IP based on MAC address. I turned off DHCP and put static IP's though out the house, BINGO everything started working.

I have a couple questions based on testing, the email works great and setup was very easy.

Based on how this is installing, a cron job is ran at selectable times that md status report and after the report is generated it is mailed out. If a hard drive went offline that event would not generate an email alert, you would only be alerted at the next selected cron job. Is this a correct statement? If is is true, is due memory limits and keeping a small footprint...

Since this is Beta, when it is it rolled into 5.0 will you have to log in to unmemu just like you do Unraid now, I don't like having things so open, since password to email account are not blank out.

Thanks for all your hard work and moving this great product along....

Errors (disks off-line and high temperatures) are checked hourly.  (the cron runs once an hour)

As far as the password being visible... can't help it.  As you said, once we get unRAID 5.0 and learn how to extend it, we can write an equivalent package-manager for it.  Everything we've learned creating the package-manager system under unMENU should be usable. (and hopefully, it will have the security you are looking for)

Joe,

Maybe my question was not clear,

It runs once every hour if the config is set to YES. But if you set to report every 4hrs example 00 04 08 12 16 20

If  a drive in the array goes offline at 8:15am would that event sent out an email or the would wait until 12:00pm

Do have any feelings on time frame for beta of 5.0

It runs EVERY hour, always, looking for an abnormal situation, even if the config is set to NO, or to an "hour" string.

It will report EVERY hour of a problem, even if not one of the "hours" you specified.

It will report on an OK status only on the "hours" you specified.

Try it... set the temperature threshold to 25, then press the button to re-install with the new values. Watch as it sends you e-mail every hour (assuming you have drive with a temperature over that threshold).

as far as version 5.0 of unRAID. Tom said he was trying to get us an early Christmas (2009) present.  It is taking far longer than his original estimate.  I've no idea when it will be released in its first beta.  Somehow, I doubt Tom does either.  His current focus is the "unformatted" bug in 4.5.3 I'll bet.
