hi im trying to copy files to my unraid server from my mac and the speeds are slow 10 mb/s.

 

i have gigabit hardware. i should be getting 30+ at least thats what i get on my pc.

 

is it because the machines are reading OS journaled and writing NTFS? or something like that? im not the most tech savvy.

 

this is from my desktop to the unraid. right now im trying to do usb OS journaled to unraid and its killing me! its even slower. sub 10 mb/s. i know a usb device at least on windows copies to the machine doing the copying then copies unraid so its like another copy step.

    The most common cause of this are crappy network cables.  Make sure you are using Cat5e or Cat6 cables - only they are rated for gigabit speeds.  Cat5 cables will result in the slow speeds you are seeing.
