September 20, 201015 yr I am just starting to evaluate unRAID, version 4.5.6. When booting to the USB flash drive, I have the messages: line 18: /boot/config/network.cfg: No such file or directory line 19: /var/tmp/network.cfg: No such file or directory I do have the file /config/network.cfg with the following contents: # Generated network settings USE_DHCP=yes IPADDR= NETMASK= GATEWAY= The flash contains the following files and direcories: Directory of H:\ 09/11/2010 11:32 AM 183 syslinux.cfg 09/11/2010 11:38 AM <DIR> config 09/11/2010 11:32 AM 2,313,456 bzimage 09/11/2010 11:32 AM 54,739,098 bzroot 09/11/2010 11:32 AM 5,162 license.txt 09/11/2010 11:32 AM 160,280 memtest 09/11/2010 11:32 AM 33,404 menu.c32 09/11/2010 11:32 AM 4,705 readme.txt 7 File(s) 57,256,288 bytes Directory of H:\config 09/11/2010 11:38 AM <DIR> . 09/11/2010 11:38 AM <DIR> .. 09/11/2010 11:32 AM 39 disk.cfg 09/11/2010 11:32 AM 71 go 09/11/2010 11:32 AM 125 ident.cfg 09/11/2010 11:32 AM 73 network.cfg 09/11/2010 11:32 AM 57 share.cfg 5 File(s) 365 bytes Total Files Listed: 12 File(s) 57,256,653 bytes 3 Dir(s) 979,861,504 bytes free /boot and /var directories are not on the USB flash drive when checking the USB flash drive on a Windows computer. The 'Tower' URL is not accessible on my network. I do not see the computer when logged into the router. I have a Gigabyte system board with dual 1 gig on-board eithernet adapters. Is there a fix for this type of problem? Dave
September 20, 201015 yr you need to make sure that the flash drive has the label "UNRAID" when initially formatting it
September 20, 201015 yr Author Thanks for the response Chanders! The USB flash drive was not named UNRAID. I built the USB flash drive again. The computer booted to unRAID flash drive, and I could access the unRAID server web page from another computer. I did have some trouble getting the USB flash drive to boot. I had to put the USB flash drive as the first boot item, and in a separate BIOS configuration area, set the USB flash drive to the highest boot priority. Dave
