September 21, 201015 yr UNRAID: 6x1TB hard drives Cache drive: 1 40GB hard drive. Settings: User shares Share name: data Comments: Allocation method: High Water Min. free space: NA Split level: 999 Included disk(s): Excluded disk(s): Use cache disk: Yes Export (SMB): Export Read/Write Export (NFS): /data Cache: Minimum free space: 100000 I just put in this 40GB cache drive. Yes it's assigned in the Devices as Cache. I've not seen anything written to it except when it's initialized. Any ideas?
September 21, 201015 yr Have you rebooted the system? When i added my cache drive I had to reboot or was it restart - I dont remember its been a while.
September 21, 201015 yr You must enable it for any of the shares you wish to have it used. Once defined it must be then be set to "yes" on each user-share, or it will not be used.
September 21, 201015 yr Author As below in my settings my cache is set to be used in my user share. I have had to reboot due to a power outage, the system still is not using the cache drive.
September 21, 201015 yr Author Hmmmm...I Might have spoke too soon. Some how the system has allocated some space. Is there anything in the syslog to say what files were moved? Why yes! Yes there is: tower/log/sylog: Sep 21 03:40:01 tower logger: mover started spiffy!
September 21, 201015 yr Also check what Joe said, although cache is on and enabled each individual share has the option to use the cache or not. possibly if you did not have a cache previously they were all set to "no". Go in your shares tab and you should see something along the lines for each share "use cachedisk" and set it to yes
September 21, 201015 yr Actually by default they are all set to No, so you definitely have to enable the cache drive for each share.
