How does one remove write permission on a given disk? (in order to say run reiserfsck on it)

You could do it through the web-based user interface (Shares, Export read-only), but that would remove change permissions on all your drives.  Not a problem if the change is only temporary, but you'd probably need to open up a telnet session and change permissions on the drive itself if you needed to only impact a single drive.
