SSD - ext4/xfs or f2fs?

Featured Replies

Exploring filesystem options and pro/cons to use on a new SSD.  Will be using a Samsung 860 evo for Docker appdata and VM use and deciding on what filesystem to use.  Only thing really heavy being used is Plex with its hundreds of thousands of tiny files.  I have a 1TB spinner for cache and scratch space.  I've had an older 120G Sandisk SSD eaten alive by Plex and it had xfs format.  Ext4/xfs are journaling, f2fs is not and was made for NAND devices.  Not interested in filesystem speed rather hardware longevity which is why asking about f2fs.  Not sure if unRAID includes support and I would be using unassigned devices for it assuming it can mount.
