FAT: Filesystem eror

Featured Replies

Woke up the server this morning and all I can see in the syslog is tonns of these erors. Can someone shed some light on this? I know sda is my flash drive but its brand new and I havent done any tinkering with configurations etc in over a month..

More details about your configuration, how the USB key was formatted, what model/type of USB key you are using, a full syslog.log file, etc., etc. would be helpful.

Just some guesses off the top of my head:  Incompatible USB stick?  Full file system?  Corrupt file?  Corrupt filesystem?  Misbehaving software application?

It was working perfect for a month or so and then the errors started showing up so I am assuming it is a corrupt file system. But for more info

1. It was formatted in windows with FAT32

2. It is a Lexar usb stick

I'll see if I can reformat it and re-install..

You might be able to just run scandisk/chkdisk on it. (right click on it in Windows, under "Properties->tools" you can check for and repair errors.)
