October 16, 201015 yr I've been running unraid for just over a year now with no issues and decided it was time to move up to a better box. I moved everything strait over and it all works perfectly. Used it for 24 hours just to make sure it was running at 100%. Next I added a 500gb drive to act as the cache drive, precleared and assigned it... Everything looks great. Till I try to write a file, then I get a kernel panic. I assumed it was due to me running the 5.0 beta so I reverted back to 4.5.6... same issue. So next I removed the cache drive and attempted a write and the server reboot. Tried once more and back to the KP. Any Thoughts?

Preferably overnight. Many motherboards set the memory voltage, timing, and clock speed properly. Many do not. Make sure it is set for your specific brand/model memory strips. Joe L.
October 16, 201015 yr Author Running the Mem test as we speak... I did mention it only happens when I try to write a file after adding a cache drive right? Also if I move the cache drive to unassigned and try to write a file the server reboots.
October 16, 201015 yr Author Ok so the issue appears to be trying to use ahci. If I disable it everything is fine. However with it disabled my write speed across the network is now lower then when I didn't use a cache drive. It could be that I am trying to use the 2 port gigabyte sata bus for the cache disk (thought I remember an issue with this). Guess I'll just wait for the new sata controller to get here and try it off a different bus.
