hello i'm thinking off trying to build my own unraid server. right know i have a synology, but wanna try all on my own. 

i have read most on the start guide on the wiki site, i think. but i wanna read some more about the security, other then don't let any open dores on your unraid and basic safety about a vpn for external acces, do you have links in the wiki or some other place where i need to read up on it?  

or any other god things to read up on befor start,

what i wanna use my server for is, lokal storage, maybe a steam storage, and if possible a back up for an external storage.
