unmenu and unRaid 5.0

Hello,

I followed the instructions from both "http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=5568.0" and "http://lime-technology.com/wiki/index.php?title=UnRAID_Add_Ons" as close as could editing the /boot/unmenu/unmenu.conf file to add my IP address as the host in lieu of "Tower" or my own NAS box name.  However after killing unmenu and even rebooting the server, I have to enter http://192.168.1.2:8080 and then edit the IP for each page I try to browse.  I also added "ehco "/boot/unmenu/uu" >> /boot/config/go" without the first and last " marks and still have to telnet to my box and type uu after a reboot.

Am I doing something stupid or is this problematic because unmenu was designed to work with unRAID 4.5?  As an aside, I'm trying to add static alias into my Ubuntu Server providing DHCP and internet sharing.  Maybe this will allow me to browse my network via names like "http://MyNAS" instead of ip?

Which editor did you use when you edited unmenu.conf ?

Did you remove the leading "#" that commented out the lines?

It was

# Unmenu will discover for itself your host name, but if you wish to set it yourself, or

# your host name is not set, then set the value of MyHost here.

#MyHost = MyTower

You want to change it to:

# Unmenu will discover for itself your host name, but if you wish to set it yourself, or

# your host name is not set, then set the value of MyHost here.

MyHost = 192.168.1.2

Note: you do NOT put the port on the end, but you do remove the leading "#" sign.

use an editor that does not put carriage returns on the ends of the lines.  (The one built into the Config View/Edit page works properly)

Hi Joe,

I used both Vim after connecting to my box via putty after using the editor from unMenu didn't work.  Yes, I did remove the # in front of MyHost.  Per one of your postings I added:

MyHost=192.168.1.2

and

unRAIDHost=192.168.1.2

Should I remove the second line?

Also, what did I do wrong in the line requesting uu start after each boot?

No, they are both needed.

Also, what did I do wrong in the line requesting uu start after each boot?

Without seeing the contents of your "config/go" file, I cannot answer.  I suspect the line is not at the end of the file but appended to the prior line.

This is a full paste of my unmenu.conf file using port 90 instead of 8080 and after trying to resolve to 'ehcah-NAS':

No, but your syntax is.

The last line should be only

/boot/unmenu/uu

All the rest of that line is what you would type on the command line to put the last line in place.

So...

delete from that last line the

echo "

and the " >>/boot/config/go

Thank you for the correction Joe.  Sorry about my stupidity.  I got caught up copying and pasting from the tutorials.  ::) ::)

Regardless, that is one problem solved.  The other is that my IP is still not being recognized by unMenu in lieu of my "ehcah-NAS" after a full reboot.

From the menu.conf I pasted above, I assume that my Host information is correct.

----

# Unmenu will discover for itself your host name, but if you wish to set it yourself, or

# your host name is not set, then set the value of MyHost here.

#MyHost = ehcah-NAS

MyHost=192.168.1.2

unRAIDHost=192.168.1.2

----

Is it possible that these lines from the middle section of the .conf aren't?

----

# alternate color_coded syslog tail for main page of unmenu.

main_page_user_content = height=280 frameborder=0 marginwidth=0 scrolling="no" src="http://%MyHost%:%MyPort%/sys_log_tail?nl=6"

# list of open files for main page of unmenu

#main_page_user_content = height=280 frameborder=0 marginwidth=0 src="http://%MyHost%:%MyPort%/lsof"
