Hi Everyone,

 

I am planning to do a first unRaid build and wanted some thoughts on parts I had laying around.  The plan for this server is for data storage (pictures/documents/programs) as well as house my movies for plex.  I have the following parts:

 

Motherboard GIGABYTE GA-78LMT-USB3 (rev. 6.0) AM3+/AM3 AMD 760G USB 3.0 HDMI Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

Processor AMD FX-6300 Vishera 6-Core 3.5 GHz Socket AM3+

16 gb of Ram

 

The board has 6 onboard SATA 3Gb/s, 1 PCI Express 2.0 x16, 1 PCI Express x1 and is expandable to 32gb of ram.  Would this be a viable option for unRaid?  I also have a sata pci card I can use for more ports.

 

I plan on using 2 10tb drives for parity and then using a bunch of 4tb wd red drives I currently have for all the data.

 

Would love to hear your thoughts.
