November 9, 201015 yr I'm trying to set up my first UnRaid server, starting out with the basic version. I logged into the UnRaid Server in the /mnt/usr/Video/Movies directory (Video share has split level of 3). Then I tried to FTP some movies from my existing NAS (Promise 4300n) using mget *.mkv All files fail at 2147483647 bytes (2G). I have over 1TB free on disk1 and disk2. I'd prefer not to have to copy the files from my NAS to the UnRaid Tower by way of an XP box, but so far this is the only way that has worked. (I can also FTP files larger than 2G to the Promise NAS from an XP machine.) Anyone know why I can't D/L a file over 2GB directly from within UnRaid using FTP? I found another post with a similar problem, but no solution. I'm kinda stumped. Jimmie
November 9, 201015 yr I don't have an answer for you..but Synology has a similar problem when using IE (chrome and firefox do not have this limitation) You could also use mount the drives via nfs or cifs...
November 10, 201015 yr Author Thanks for your reply, mbryanr- I bit the bullet and transferred everything into and out of an XP box on the same subnet. even though it took 2 days. I'm not yet adept enough to mount drives remotely from within UnRaid, and I suspect that given the trimmed-down version of slackware that installs on the thumbdrive (and doesn't even boot into UnRaid without issuing 'bzimage initrd=bzroot' from the keyboard) may not have the required libraries to pull that off, especially against my existing NAS, which is essentially a proprietary Promise Technology setup. (There's no telnet access to it without some questionable hacking involved) So far I'm not really too happy with the overall experience. I really like the idea of being able to expand easily using various-sized disks, but the lack of support for 4k sectors and the issues I've run across so far give me pause. I'll pay with it another week or so to learn more before I make a decision. I -DO- like this forum and the helpful advice I see. thanks, Jimmie
