soong
I plan on making my first unRAID server soon. I mostly just want to use it as a NAS. Movies, photos (Lightroom), home movies, files and documents, archives (not accessed too often). I might try out some dockers and maybe some VMs but I won't need to use them too much as I already have a separate server for running apps other than my existing NAS. I'm am thinking about ASRock B365M Pro4 motherboard and Intel Pentium Gold G5400 CPU. Does that seem fast enough enough? Does it make sense to use the existing ports on the motherboard for drives and then get a SAS card as I need more ports? Or is it recommended to only use SAS cards? Quote Link to comment
