December 5, 201015 yr another one I guess... I already have a win 7 ultimate box that talks to http://tower and \\tower without any trouble. I just got an ExoPC which is win7 home. It can ping tower, I can go to \\tower\diskX but when I try to open a subdirectory, I get something like \\tower\disk7\tv is not accessible. You may not have the rights to use this network resource. Contact the system administrator... The network name specified is no longer available. (the OS is in french so the error message is probably a bit different in english) I use "simple" share security. I'm guessing I'm missing a share parameter somewhere but I can't seem to put my finger(litterally) on it On the other hand, if I go to http://tower, it asks me for my user info then I get a black rectangle outline with "Wait..." My intranet security settings are at the lowest possible setting. thanks Gog
December 7, 201015 yr Author I need some fresh air... The ExoPC has a wireless N card byuilt in and my old router only has G so I installed a new linksys gateway as a wireless bridge, configured that network the same way I had done the old one and now my two problems are gone. Gog
