Bolle
Hi, I believe I maybe having some read/write performance issues: Symptoms: *writing to the unRAID server maxes out at about 20 Mbyte/sec. This without or with parity disk installed. This from iMac to server, from Atom330 based music server to unRAID server, using either rsync, Synkron or Ultracopier. *Compressed mkv's have a regular but occasional (and very irritating stutter) in playback. *I'm using user shares *motherboard is Asus M4A78LT-M, SATA controller set to enables, all SATA ports set to AHCI. *The ethernet interface is reported as: NIC info (from ethtool) Settings for eth0: Supported ports: [ TP MII ] Supported link modes: 10baseT/Half 10baseT/Full 100baseT/Half 100baseT/Full 1000baseT/Half 1000baseT/Full Supports auto-negotiation: Yes Advertised link modes: 10baseT/Half 10baseT/Full 100baseT/Half 100baseT/Full 1000baseT/Half 1000baseT/Full Advertised auto-negotiation: Yes Speed: 1000Mb/s Duplex: Full Port: MII PHYAD: 0 Transceiver: internal Auto-negotiation: on Supports Wake-on: pumbg Wake-on: g Current message level: 0x00000033 (51) Link detected: yes NIC driver info (from ethtool -i) driver: r8169 version: 2.3LK-NAPI firmware-version: bus-info: 0000:02:00.0 Ethernet config info (from ifconfig) eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 20:cf:30:f1:3f:ff inet addr:192.168.1.44 Bcast:192.168.1.255 Mask:255.255.255.0 UP BROADCAST NOTRAILERS RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1 RX packets:148200 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0 TX packets:280546 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0 collisions:0 txqueuelen:1000 RX bytes:12833814 (12.2 MiB) TX bytes:405078341 (386.3 MiB) Interrupt:26 Base address:0x2000 My network consists of Netgear 16 port 10/100/1000 switch, cat6 cabling. I have also put the unRAID box on the Gigabit ports of an Apple Time Capsule to see if there's an issue with the Netgear switch. No improvement however. The syslog is attached. If any of the local expert would be so kind to take a look and check if anything is not correct, it would be much appreciated! Happy New Year! startup_syslog_02012010.pdf Link to comment
Bolle
Think I resolved it using this information: http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=4996.0 In my iMac and Linux Vortexbox NAS environment it is probably the solution. As my unRAID box is slowly 'maturing' I'm now starting eyeing up cache disks, sabnzb and transmission.... This is going to ask more money and time! Link to comment
