  1. So, when i try to upload via winscp or via browser i get incredibly slow transfer speeds, like 500Kbps. i am transferring a ubuntu iso. If i jump on top the putty though and do a wget i get 40Mb/s. This isnt new, its aleways been like this, any ideas whats causing it?
  2. tower-diagnostics-20210107-1642.zip My server recently failed so i moved to different hardware. the new machines is a HP Z800 Workstation. Dual x5660 CPU and 48GB Ram, Quadro 6000 GPU. Everything is recognised in the Bios no issues but when i boot in to unraid the 6 core 12 thread CPUs (12 and 24 total) are beiung recognised as a 4 core 8 thread single CPU. My previous system was a similar setup but it wass a x5650 system and that recognised everything no issues. Any help greatly appreciated.
  3. Hi, I am wondering if there is a docker container for monitoring my internet connectivity. I am on a expensive internet line that is supposed to have superior connectivity but what i am finding is very short high latency periods during peak times. I would like to prove this out by running a continuous ping to several locations thoigh the day and night and then be able to plot a graph with any high pings, say above 100ms and also record any periods of no connectivity. Does such a thing exist?
  4. Hi, So i am playing around with some new cameras looking at various options for how to access recordings, looked at Shinobi, Blue Iris, iVMS. One thing i would like to try is to have a NFS share, for example \\tower\CCTV\CarCam and then set up a path in the hikvision software to that car cam folder. like this.. This fails the connection, I have tried slashes the other way like this dropped the tower.... but nothing seems to be able to connect, any ideas?
  5. Things seem to have stabalised now, very odd but had 36 hours now without a reboot. will continue to monitor.
  6. Hi, Can you clever folks have a look through my logs please and help me to understand whats going on with my server. after nearly 70 days without a single problem, i went to have a look at something this morning and noticed the server had rebooted, as soon as i mounted the drives and started a VM.... Bang reboot. tried again... same. Any help appreciated. Thanks tower-diagnostics-20200506-0916.zip
  7. Hi, I have an unraid running on a HP server (dual X5650 56GB RAM) and recently i have noticed it seems to be running very slow, bit of investigation and i cant seem to figure out why. Can anyone help with the logs please? The dashboard is so slow and unresponsive it looks like a network failure but ping and response times are 1ms so i think its more like there is a service or an application causing this. the specific instances have happened twice on 06/02/20 between 10 30 and 1130 am. Array is stopped at point of taking diagnostics as i needed to reboot to make it respond. Any help appreicated, tower-diagnostics-20200206-1157.zip
  8. Well, I figured this out and thought i would come back and let you know. I initially grabbed windows iso from the windows website, at the time of this post that was version 1909. When this failed to install i decided to grab an older version so i went for 1809, this installed perfectly. strange but true!
  9. Oh well looks like i am stumped on this one. tough decision to make now, can i live with no VM's? i dont think so
  10. I have tried 50G 30G and 60G. I have just tried setting it up as a Windows 7 machine and i can see that it uses the older SEA Bios. I have a quite old server (circa 2011 i think) However this didnt work, same error. Can anyone help pleeeeeeease!!!
  11. Ok tried that but still the same result. When I create the VM i can see the Vdisk img being created. but its asif the VM cant see or doesnt have access to the newly created img file. so sad! havent got much longer left on the trial and i defo need 1 Windows machine to run my CCTV software
  12. yeah i think i have watched all of his videos. They have been great. But i am failing at the same step every time. For me this is a deal breaker of using unraid vs going back to Hyper V or ESXi. I really need to have a windows machine. I have attached a diagnostics, if anyone can help and tell me why my windows machines are not seeing hard drives that would be great! tower-diagnostics-20200107-1919.zip

  14. Hi, I have access to a Dell SAN MD3000. I am considering using it in my Unraid server but I am not sure how to do it, it was previously used with a Windows OS using iSCSI, no issues. How would i go about using it with unraid, is it possible?
  15. Excellent. Thanks. I moved the Ethernet to one of the other ports (Server has 3 plus ilo) then got gig. Moved it back got 100. Very odd but hey got gig now. Thanks all
  16. Ahhh yes, such a noob! spotted. found the info in ethtool.txt too! im a windows person and have been for 25 years! old habits!
  17. Which document did you get this info from too please mate?
  18. Thanks Folks. Is there a docker for seeing information in plain format things like network connection speeds, kind of liketask manager on windows?
  19. Thanks Johnie, I will grab a laptop and plug it in and see what that gets.
  20. Great, Thanks See attached.tower-diagnostics-20191230-1248.zip
  21. Hi All, So I have a HP Server GL160 G6 I think, has 2 on board and 1 additional Broadcom Net Xtreme NIC. Regardless of where i plug in to i am only seeing 100meg speeds in Unraid. I am using 2 3TB spinning drives and a SSD for a cache Drive. I have created a share using only the Cache drive to remove any bottle neck on the spinnging disks but i still dont see speeds over 11MB/s in windows file transfer and the unraid server is showing 100.6Mbps. I am also seeing the same results on Torrent files, never achieving more that 11MB/s (I am on a 350m connection and ususally see speeds around 30-35). Before Unraid i was running Windows Server and getting 1Gig. I dont know what to show you from the system to provide any further data so here is a cut from the system devices IOMMU group 12:[14e4:1681] 07:00.0 Ethernet controller: Broadcom Inc. and subsidiaries NetXtreme BCM5761 Gigabit Ethernet PCIe (rev 10) IOMMU group 13:[8086:10c9] 05:00.0 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82576 Gigabit Network Connection (rev 01) IOMMU group 14:[8086:10c9] 05:00.1 Ethernet controller: Intel Corporation 82576 Gigabit Network Connection (rev 01) any advice?
