  1. My nas box is dead and I'd like to remove a hard drive from it and plug it into an external usb case to download the HD's content into my win7 PC. but I don't see anything when I plugged it in...am i doing something wrong? or the file system is not compatible with win7's NTFS?? Thank you.
  2. thanks. Local master is Yes since day one...i'm just puzzle as to why lost access to the disks all the sudden. Can i reinstall unraid or upgrade it? think that will fix the problem?
  3. i can access the tower with the ip address but i can't map the drives with windows explorer. so how do you access the drives with fixed IP? I've attached the system log file....maybe you can help. system_log.txt
  4. i have the unraid box permanently at 192.168.1.199 and that's how i gain access to it with my browser. my concern is that i've lost access to the share folders. I didn't do anything for this to happened....so confused.
  5. Also, i can't access the share folders in Windows Explorer. The only way to get to the webgui is by the ip address. Everything was fine yesterday so I'm not sure what happened...
  6. wow I didn't know about Midnight Commander. Thanks!
  7. I'm running version 5.0-beta14. I installed the latest SNAP and mounted an external USB hard drive. I opened up unRAID webGUI under Shares, i see the external USB hard drive is under /mnt/disk/GoGo (the name i gave it). My question is, how do i share GoGo so i can copy files from it to my unRAID drives. Thanks
  8. OMG like the noob that I am, I ran the SMART test on the wrong HD. Here's the correct smart.txt for the HD in question...i think it's bad... smart.txt
  9. Attached is the SMART report. Reallocated_Sector_Ct is 0, if i read it correctly. Thank you. smart.txt
  10. Okay, I will do that and report back. But it's weird since the disk is pretty new... thanks!
  11. My system is a HP ProLiant N40L with 1tb hd and a few movies on the hard drive. I'm still testing this thing out. I have it connected to the network and stream the movies to my xbmc in the living room. So i'd watch the movie all fine and it'd freeze at a certain point. I thought maybe it was the movie but I can watch the movies on my computer just fine. so i looked at the log and i saw a bunch of "disk2 read error" at the time the movie freezes. I really don't understand what's going on and I'd love to get some insight on this. I've attached the syslog file. and i'm running the latest beta. Thank you. syslog.txt
