  1. Bought computer equipment in March. My Fractal Design Node 804 is already too small. Bought a Define 7 XL (hopefully 18 bays will last a while). Question, when I unplug everything and replug it in the new case, how careful do I have to be that a hard drive plugged into SATA 1 is plugged back in the same location? Does it matter, or does it just use serial numbers as the reference? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  2. I never notice any problems with my UnRAID server, until I go to copy files from my Windows 10 machine to the UnRAID server. I'm up to date on both versions of my OS, I keep all the Plugins and Dockers up to date. When I copy, I see my Windows machine copying, then the network speed drops to 0Mb/s for about 5-10 seconds. Then it fails. I have to try several (sometimes many) times to get a file to copy. During these failed copies, I don't notice my running VMs to freeze, or my games hang. When I watch the stats, the screen freezes for a while while I wait
  3. Squid, I was SURE I had checked there. SMH Thanks.
  4. I hate to ask a dumb question, but I got this all set up and running, and now I can't figure out how to go back in and edit it to add more drives.
  5. I've been moving files to my new server. I was awakened at 4:00am, and checked on it, everything was fine, I got up at 6:15, and the server was powered off. I do have it on a UPS, and besides, if we lost power I would have immediately woken up. I turned it on, and went to the System Log. The earliest event it shows is at 6:17. Is there a location to see older log information? It's now doing a parity check (my initial one just got done yesterday 😞 ). But my other problem is my external drive I was copying from shows up in Unassigned Devices, but I can't Mount it, t
  6. Awesome. Now, how do I see my Mounted, Unassigned drive that has all my files? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. I wanted to use a file manager to move my Plex files from my external drives to my new UnRAID server. I tried to install Krusader using SI1's video, but the container he was installing was different from the one I found in Community Apps. I can't seem to figure out how to properly install and run it. SI demo'ed what to put in Host Path 1, what I installed doesn't even have a Home Path 1. I really don't understand what I'm doing, or how to even run Krusader to get the 2 pane window. Any assistance would be very much appreciated.
  8. Never mind. Installed with UEFI. Not sure why that caused problems.
  9. After 24 hours of struggles, cursing, praying, and maybe a little crying I finally got my new computer built. I put the USB drive in the 2.0 port in the back and turned it on. I got the menu, and a countdown. When it hits 0, it restarts at 5. If I press Enter, it restarts at 5. I can’t get past the menu. Thoughts?
  10. I've ordered parts, and waiting for them to come in to build my first UnRAID server! A couple of questions... I'm going to start with 2 new drives (I've already purchased them and ran Pre-Clear on them), set one up as parity and the other one as a drive. I'll take one of my current data drives on my desktop (starting with Plex TV Shows), move them to the UnRAID drive. Once it's emptied, I'll pre-clear it and install it as a 2nd drive. I will continue to empty drives, adding them as data drives in the array. I'm also going to have 2 120GB SSD drives as a cache, mirrored.
  11. I’m going to build one in a week or two, and I’m getting the Fractal Design Node 804. Instead of being really tall, the MB is one side, the Power and drives are on the other side. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. That's 2 people telling me that the supplied cooler is sufficient. Things must've changed since last time I built, it was common knowledge that the coolers are junk. OK, I'm going to remove the cooler.
  13. I also changed the power supply to a "Thermaltake Toughpower GOLD 750 W 80+ Gold Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply" instead of the "Corsair CXM 750 W 80+ Bronze Certified Semi-modular ATX Power Supply". Same price. Is Thermaltake a good brand?
  14. How did I miss that there was no graphics? You ever look at something a dozen items, and end up choosing one you already ruled out? That was a requirement! I've edited the specs to change the i3-9100F to the i3-8100. It added $40, so I changed that too.
  15. Hey everyone. Not my first computer build, but it is my first time with UnRAID. I am waiting on my tax refund, which is still a week away. I think I've got an inexpensive build. Here's my requirements: - I'd like to keep the system around $500, though there is some wiggle room (not including HDD) - It's primarily for Plex, mostly for in-house Rokus, but some downloading to iOS and external streaming (probably not more than 1 at a time); - I will store files, maybe a VM or 2 (my son is fascinated with older games / Windows) Here's what I'm thinking: Ca
