Still couldn't get it to boot. Maybe it's the .iso from Ubuntu, however, I re-downloaded it fresh from the site and tried again and got the same result. Here's the workaround that I used: Created new VM and installed Ubuntu 20.04 SERVER Once Ubuntu 20.04 SERVER was installed, I installed the Ubuntu DESKTOP components with these commands sudo apt-get install tasksel sudo tasksel Select Ubuntu Desktop selection and install Reboot the VM you should be able to VNC into Ubuntu 20.04 DESKTOP without issue

Using Ubuntu Desktop or Ubuntu Server ? Ubuntu Server works fine for me, but Ubuntu Desktop 20.04 never makes it to the installer and the CPU is pegged at 100%.

Same issue here for me.

I cannot get Ubuntu Desktop 20.04 to run as a VM on UnRaid 6.8.3. Every time I create a new VM and load up the .iso, the CPU goes to 100% and the VM doesn't boot to desktop. This also happens when you try to upgrade to Ubuntu Desktop 20.04 from 19.10. When you upgrade you will get a blank screen on VNC and CPU will be 100%. This only seems to affect Ubuntu Desktop as Ubuntu Server 20.04 loads up fine.
