Hi all,
I am running Unraid 5.0 rc3 on an HP N40l Microserver. I know it's an older version but I've not had problems for years and haven't seen a need to upgrade in the past. Recently, I noticed some errors on one of the disks in the array (sdb) and a SMART report indicated the drive was approaching end of life, so I replaced it. My intention was to replace with the same size drive, and in the new year, increase the size of the parity drive and update the version of unraid, with a view to increase storage space in future as I am running out.
The replacement drive was run though pre-clear once with no issues, and the array was successfully rebuilt. However I checked the server today and have now had some errors occur on the drive and I have the dreaded flashing red ball. I'm not physically near the server, but the connections shouldn't come loose as the drives are all in permanent caddies within the server.
I've attached the syslog and smart report for the drive that is red balled, could anyone take a look and let me know if I am looking at a faulty drive that I can try to get replaced, or if I am looking at replacing the server itself.
Thanks in advance
