  1. I have a rather extensive homelab with a couple Windows 10 machines acting mainly as Home Theater PC's. I had a VMware host where a windows server. among other windows vm's, resided, exclusively for user and access management for the windows 10 machines. Since I setup an Unraid server I started moving most of my servers and services to Unraid dockers and vm's. At the end the VMware server was used only for the windows server 2016 vm. So, since I had enough resources on my Unraid server, I decided to move, and upgrade at the same time, the windows server 2022 to a vm in Unraid. Brand new clean installation of Windows Server 2022 with only the domain controller role setup.

The windows machines use SMB to access the Unraid shares, so the unraid server has SMB enabled (active directory). Whenever I try to join the domain for the SMB to work (from Unraid) the windows server reboots ! No messages in Event Viewer or something pointing to the source of the problem. Other than when I try to join the domain from Unraid the windows server is stable as a rock.

I was on 6.11.5 and after 5-6 tries I managed to join the domain. I upgraded to 6.12.0 last night and after that, besides my 10-15 tries,  whenever I try to join the domain the windows server restarts ...

Any ideas about the source of this problem? Has anybody had any similar issues?

  2. @ JorgeB : I have no idea what this line does. It might be a leftover from an effort I made a couple of weeks back to restore the web ui, which I found in the forum.

@ Squid : That worked! But does that mean that I cannot reenable ssl?

  3. For the past month I had lost the web interface of my Unraid server. All shares and docker containers were working normally. Today I decided to reboot the server, hoping that I would get the interface back. When it came back up I still don't have a web interface, but making the situation worse no  shares and docker containers exist on the LAN. I still get access to the server through ssh though.

Any ideas about how to proceed? Any help will be much appreciated....

  4. Thank you for your help.

I followed your suggestions (deleted both super.* from /config) and then restarted. After startup I created a new config from the Tools menu, and reassigned all drives. Then I started the array again, selecting "Parity is valid" option. I checked and found that super.dat was recreated in the /config folder of the USB Flash.

I will restart the server again to see what happens and let you know...

  5. Hi Jorge,

I've tried both recreating the old one and using a brand new flash drive but I keep getting the same error at startup (Stale Configuration) and all array disks show as unassigned.

Attached you will find my diagnostics after I replaced the flash drive and restarted a couple of times.

In  a separate, but possibly related issues, my server has been acting up lately and at random intervals it hangs unexpectedly, usually during the night. I mean IPMI shows the server as running but the server is completely unresponsive to web gui, ssh, smb etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,

  6. Hi all,

For the past 3-4 months whenever I restart my server I get a "Stale Configuration" at the bottom left of my screen and all array drives are unassigned. Pool drives retain their configuration.  I re-assign the drives and the array starts just fine. The problem is a Parity-Check in my case takes almost 48 hours, not to mention the extra strain it puts on the drives.

I've read all forum posts on the subject, and tried every possible combination of creating a new config and re-ckecking parity I could think of, but to no avail.

Can somebody show me the correct procedure to get rid of this problem?

    Thanks in advance,

    Vassilis

PS : Please find attached my diagnostics zip.

  7. Hi all,

Lately I've noticed that my cache is getting to almost 90% capacity almost continuously. This morning it was up to 99% and the system was almost unresponsive. Since last night the mover was running but to no effect. So I stopped both docker and vms, just to make sure that nothing was filling up the cache (qBitTorrent, NZBGet etc) while the mover was trying to empty it. For the past couple of hours the cache went from 32.1 GB free space to to 34.3 GB.

Mover is running as you can see.

Why is the mover so slow ? Is thing natural ? What can I do to improve the situation ?

I want to mention here that I also tried the CA Turbo Write plugin, with no effect. Also my downloads folder on the array was setup to use cache, I've modified to not use cache now, but I am afraid this will cause file integrity issues with temporary files of qBitTorrent and NZBGet. Should I wait for the mover to clear the cache before I restart docker in order to avaid this kind of problems?

Thanking you in advance for your help ....
