  1. Everything has been working perfectly on 5.0.5. 8 data disks with parity of course. Parity was good. I have user shares. One particular share, I was coping a music DVD to. This share had fill-up with 1gb remaining limit with a share level of 1 ( I should have changed to 3 and highwater). Anyway because of these settings, the HD that held the share filled and Win 7 gave me the disk full while coping message. And this is where things went south. I cancelled the copy, deleted any files that had been already copied. I went to reset the share and it was gone along with 2 others. I checked the config file and in the share folder they were all there so the config hadn't lost them. And then besides 1 of the HDD got redballed. It suspect it would be the one that the share would have tried the recopy to as it was really the only 1 with lots of free space. Now I'm hooped. Every time I reboot the server, that drive isn't there. I start the array, have to stop and then I can assign the drive back in. And then it wants to a parity sync again. In the mean time everything is there and available if I access the drive share itself but still the 3 user shares are missing. The remaining shares all give a report of exactly the same free space. Unraid cannot compute that (hangs the webpage). I've since formatted the jumpdrive and installed 5.0.6 along with the old config file. Same thing happening. I suspect that some configuration file such as secrets ( or whatever ) is preventing Unraid from working properly. I have 15TB of data which is intact but how do I fix this?
  2. New install on a new machine. Installed 6 3tb HD. I installed as the free setup before I received my plus key. All went okay with the parity and 2 drives. Once I put in the key, all drives showed up and were assigned. That is where it broke. Locked up forever and would not even let me power down gracefully. Solid lockout for over 26 hours. Reformatted the flash, reinstalled, used plus key, reassigned all drives like before. But did it all at one time. Now it is at least formatting and the web browser is available. Taking like 3 minutes to format each drive now. And progressing. So you definitely have a problem with this version under the conditions stated.
  3. Jezz looks like my 4GB at a whole $3.95 was a GREAT deal.
  4. Thats what I thought when I read the upgrade procedure. Didn't do any hardware upgrades yet just over wrote the 2 files and this is what happened. So only changes was the version. With a perfectly great system, I wanted to make sure the operating system worked first. As the warning says this is BETA software. And crap this forum can't even handle the log because it's too big so I had to edit it. Syslog attached. syslog-20120627-170331-1.txt
  5. Using Version 5.0 beta 14 and working PERFECTLY. Doing some upgrades and though might as well upgrade to the latest version of UnRaid while at it. BAD news. Upon bootup and looking at TOWER thru webpage it told me that 2 HDD were unformatted. I powered down and rebooted. Now it told me that 3 HDD were unformatted. PANIC is not a nice thing. I put beta 14 back on and viola the HDD are back on line and all is ok. What went wrong? I have to point out that from previous versions the HDD all except 1 have MBR:unaligned. Suggestions?
