ok did not figure out till today that I could click on the icon for the vm; stating that so that others may see that not totally obvious thing. Now, is there a way I can just specify a number of cores as opposed to specifying which ones go to which VM?

I got the vnc thing figured out to connect to it; that was easy. I built a couple freebsd VMs, one for stable and one for current. I wanted to change cpu and mem allocation after building them and could not make that happen.

I am wondering about VM management. Once I have created one, I don't see a gui way to stop or start an individual VM; I can only stop or start all. Trying to change mem allocation via virsh also fails, and it looks like cpu assignments are pinned, as opposed to simply picking a number of cores. Have I missed something obvious?
