  3. I'm gonna try and bump this at midnight like an idiot because I'm tired of just living with this problem. I tried following this (https://www.redhat.com/sysadmin/beginners-guide-network-troubleshooting-linux)  guide I found but honestly I have no reference on what I'm looking at. Here is my command terminal at the end.

  4. So, I've fried my brain trying to understand how I broke the thing, but at first my server didn't have internet (unlike every other device on the lan but it could ping the router and do all lan tasks. Eventually i was trying to fix it after the app tab told me to change the dns server to 208.67.222.222 and 208.67.220.220 that fixed it, and now reverting the settings it's still fixed? ping google check browse apps check download app s NOatkinson-diagnostics-20210730-2214.zip I run unifi for my home network.Atkinson_NetworkSettings.pdf where to start? image.png.7d02a7647f3fff00985954943b323e7c.pngimage.thumb.png.0c7ba3d7027e305642ec6b5b37237d42.pngimage.thumb.png.7316804bdc6ac651fc3f5be7d17c2dbb.png

  5. I've been having a problem, I start ripping a DVD and my CPU usage is looking like normal operation so I check the file it gets to about 97MB and then the .MKV file disappears after a little bit of unpredictable waiting the disk ejects and the folder is still empty.

    (Normal operation -> .mkv file disappears and the status light on the DVD drive stops -> randomly it ejects)

    here is the log for the latest instance.
    25.11.2020 05:59:47 : DVD detected: Saving MKV
    '/out/Ripper/DVD/ROOTS_DISC2_SIDE_B' -> '/out/Ripper/DVD/finished/ROOTS_DISC2_SIDE_B'
    25.11.2020 06:03:03 : Done! Ejecting Disk

    How should I go about diagnosing this?

  6. So I am finally getting an old pc donated to me and I will make it a dedicated nas for both Plex and network file shares. I'm leaning towards unraid due to the way expanding the array functions. The only problem being that I don't think that there will be any expansion options for more than an OS ssd and 2/3 hdds. So i ask, when I need more I will most likely be upgrading cpu and motherboard with no place to store the data other than the array can I make the upgrade without losing data?

    And while your here how possible would it be to allow computers on my network access the optical drive that this pc comes with to watch/ rip media.
