I've been having some disk errors over the last several months. It's bad that I've been ignoring them but they've overall been fairly un-concerning, infrequent and nothing I couldn't sort. I've long been suspecting a power issue due to using power splitters, but haven't been able to confirm & haven't been in a position to replace the PSU. Anytime I got an error I stopped the array, checked for connection problems & started up again. Basically just rebuilding parity as needed & I've not suffered any data loss as of yet.
Couple of things I've tried so far
Replaced HBA card (both appeared to behave about the same)
Swapped data cables around & secured them (no noticeable changes)
Also been occasionally getting UDMA CRC errors on a couple of drives, but nothing I felt was concerning.
Sometimes I could go weeks without issue, other times I get issues more frequently. All extended SMART tests pass & I've never had errors during parity re-builds. The few drives that I've pulled out I then put in another PC and used Seatools on them. Been running long tests on them & they all pass & showed no problems.
However had a big flurry of errors last night & really need to figure out what the cause is now. Could someone look over my diagnostics & see if anything stands out. Is dodgy power a likely culprit, or are the disks actually at fault?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
