  1. I haven't been able to try ntlm auth = Yes yet as too many people streaming.  Plex is working so no one is complaining except blue iris as it can't move files.  I cannot access any shares from any windows pc or my iPhone.  Thought I would drop my diag.

    Edit:

    ntlm auth = Yes

fixed my issues.  I can now access all unraid shares from windows and my iPhone as before.

  2. Ok, I got the backup restored on the same flash drive and everything is working again.  Not sure what the issue was.  I did see this error Synchronize Cache(10) failed: Result: hostbyte=0x01 driverbyte=0x00 with a prompt to press enter to restart before the flash drive became unresponsive.  I will wait a few days before attempting to update again.

  3. Unable to access the WebUI.  Tried restarting and tried Force Update with no success.  It is working with Sonarr, Radarr, etc, but cannot access the WebUI.  It's been working for a few years now.  See error:

Edit: The server was restarted 9 days ago.

Edit 2: It fixed itself overnight, not sure what changed.

    1 - I fixed the En0 following this guide.

The problem was thas I had a network adapater as En0 but it was not marked as built-in.

2 - I notice that even if I filled out the "PlatformInfo" tab in the OpenCore Configurator as shown in the video (with mac model, serial number etc...) when I clicked on "About this mac" I had no model specified... just "mac". And Hackintool also showed Standard PC (Q35 + ICH9, 2009)" as Model indentifier.

The error I made (or the thing I did not corrected) was that under the PlatformInfo tab the scroll down menu on the bottom right was set to "Overwrite"... But it obviously had nothing to overwrite and changing it to "create" did the trick ! On reboot I had the right model identifier and I could log in to icloud with no problem...

Hope that will help someone !

1 - How far did you have to go?  I also don't have a check-mark under built-in.  I'm not sure how to go about:

If this doesn't work, add NullEthernet.kext (opens new window) and ssdt-rmne.aml (opens new window) to your EFI and config.plist under Kernel -> Add and ACPI -> Add respectively. The SSDT is precompiled so no extra work needed, reminder compiled files have a .aml extension and .dsl can be seen as source code.

2 - Mine shows as Mac Pro (Late 2013) so I think I'm good there.

  5. tldr; By removing the partition and letting it sit in the array, it finally gave me the option to format at the bottom which fixed itself.

So yesterday I finally finished building my new server and loaded up unraid for the first time ever.  Right now I have 1 nvme, 2 SSDs, and 3 HDDs.  I started with the nvme as the cache drive and 1 hdd as parity and 2 hdds in the pool.  Everything was working well, then I decided to add the 2 SSDs to the nvme to create a cache pool.  That worked, but then I decided the SSDs might slow down the nvme and it probably wasn't necessary.  Where I went wrong was just unassigning the 2 SSDs and leaving the nvme.  Unraid did not like this.  In the wee hours of the morning I tried various blkdiscard and btrfs device remove commands to no success.  I have tried removing the partitions and formatting in xfs and btrfs and no matter what it says Unmountable: Unsupported partition layout and under cache it says unknown partition format.  I formatted it as xfs and ran the following which didn't help either.

    root@ZUnraid:~# xfs_repair -v /dev/nvme0n1
Phase 1 - find and verify superblock...

Sorry, could not find valid secondary superblock
    Exiting now.

I am at a loss now.  I don't have another device with an nvme slot to try this drive in.  I could make a live cd with some partition tools but I'm at a loss on how to get this added back in.  Unassigned devices has no issue formatting the drive or removing the partition so I'm not sure what it's complaining about.  Halp!

  6. Thanks for this post.  I was able to catch the 2288G back in stock on Provantage and order everything up for my first Unraid build which is supposed to be delivered this Friday.  I am coming from a dual E5-2680 V2 Windows server with DAS which I will keep around for VMs, labs, etc. but have ran out of physical storage space and using Drivepool in Windows caused me to duplicate everything and it's a bit clunky.  Going to be a fun weekend building a new server!  https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Shane01638/saved/hxwGqs
