@JorgeB Thank you for your quick response. I have removed the S3 sleep plugin. If it holds for the next couple of days I will mark as solved. Otherwise I will enable syslog and repost.

Hi all,
I have been using my unraid server for nearly 3 years. I added a UPS about 6 months ago. Over the past week the server has been shutting down every 1-2 days. It normally powers up with the array started, I normally just have to restart PFSENSE VM after getting it going again. Today when it shutdown my wife turned it back on, the array had stopped and is conducting the parity check.
The server is in a cupbiard up high and out of reach of kids and pets. I have downloaded the syslog in the hope someone can give me some clue as where to start.

Thank you for the response. I have upgeaded at the start of the year from 16 to 32GB. I run a PFSense VM with 3GB. I was running the Windows 10 VM on 16GB and have lowered to 12 when i started having these problems.

Hi all,
I am hoping someone can help. My Windows 10 VM seems to keep shutting down to what I believe is a RAM shortage. The problem did come up once in Fix Common Problems where the advice was to start a post. It seems to have become more frequent and I lowered the RAM that my VM was using from 16GB to 10GB but the problem continues.
I have attached diagnostics, any help greatly appreciated.

I completed the first two steps. Once I tried passing through only one port at a time, it managed to passthrough one of the ports. By doing this it was also changing the xml. For a while it was only recognising one of the ports. But with a few restarts and trying a few different things it seemed to click and recognise all 4 ports.
I've run out of time for tonight but will finish the rest of the install in a couple of days. I'm just happy to can see the 4 ports.
This one had me stuck for a few weeks, I feel like I've learned a lot and I really appreciate your help. Its one thing I have enjoyed about the UNRAID community and I hope to help others as I build on my knowledge.
Sharing my XML in case it helps anyone else.

When I start PFSense through the VM I get "No Interfaces found!" message. Pictured below
I also just noticed when I start the VM it uses 100% of the CPU (1 core, 2 threads) from an intel i3 10100 (4 core/8 thread) on the GUI dashboard.
Do I need to be looking at this issue from a PFSense perspective? I thought because it was not recognising the NIC it must have been something in the XML.

Thank you for taking time to respond! I have tried several different XML edits including your suggestion with no luck. There seem to be a few people having similar issues in a different post so I have tried posting there.

I’m glad to see I am not the only one struggling with this issue! This feels like the biggest challenge I have come across in my relatively short UNRAID journey and I’m looking forward to the sense and relief and accomplishment when I solve the issue! 😊
I have purchased a quad nic with intel i350. I’m using UNRAID 6.9.0 beta 25 so was able to pass through NIC ports from the GUI. I can see them when creating the VM but get the ‘No network interfaces’ found note when I boot PFSense.
I was trying to find the correlation between the IOMMU groups and the XML but don’t fully understand the concept. The 4 at the start of the number appears to be the bus? 00 in the middle the slot? And the 0,1,2,3 at the end the function. I could be totally wrong but that was how my brain was trying to make sense of it. I’ve tried many combos of previous posts without any luck. Anyways please see my XML attached and a snip of the IOMMU groups. Any ideas/suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Update: after booting with CSM in the BIOS disabled i lost the lan and could not load the GUI. Reading around on the forums I found this page:
https://linux.die.net/man/8/ethtool
to help me with the command line because I'm a newbie! I used the
ethtool -p eth* to identify where each of the ports were.
The ports had been remapped so eth0 was on the right as you looked at the back of the nic. I plugged my network cable into that port and was able to load the GUI again.
Probably sounds basic but took longer than it should so posting in case I can help someone else.

Thanks for the help!
Disabling the CSM allowed it to boot but have now lost network. The BIOS hang issue is gone so can be marked as solved. I'll have a look at some similar posts and try some things. I can the eth1-4 ports listed but they are down.

Hello Unraid Community!
I am hoping someone can help. I haven't seem to find a related post. I recently bought a quad nic from ebay inspired by spaceinvader one's pfsense videos. When I installed the NIC the bios screen hangs and I am unable to enter the BIOS settings. I have put the nic into my windows PC and it seems to work fine. When I take the nic out of the NAS it works okay.
I thought I had found a solution with this post as my nic also has the i350 chipset: https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/intel-i350-t2-nic-stops-computer-from-booting.2426426/
when I tried it the PXE was not enabled and I don't think it had firmware?
NIC: Silicom PE2G4I35L
CPU: Intel Core I3 10100
M/B: Gigabyte H470M
Any help or suggestions appreciated.

Thank you for the help and advice! The new version along with a previous post covering BIOS settings got me to the GUI.

Have just built my first NAS. I have a Gigabyte H470M DS3H which has the intel i219-v NIC. I have booted from the bootable unraid USB and got to the login but cannot access the GUI to complete registration. The onboard GUI doesn't load either using HDMI, the screen just goes black. All help and suggestions greatly appreciated.

Could be a coincidence. Removing the S3 plugin seems to be doing the trick.
I am also running v6.11.5. I have Authelia installed but it was not running at the time and I haven't finished setting it up properly.
