  1. I was having issues with my Plex docker not working so I followed some suggestions on repairing the database from SpaceInvaderOne, which after an integrity check I had the following issues:

    image.thumb.png.93b2ca8a6df1f3e6b07dc60975473c54.png

I ended up deleting and reimporting the database which then the integrity check said ok. Upon spooling up the container I now get this in my logs and I have no idea what it means or if it can be resolved.

    Unraid 6.11.5

  2. As of the last 3-4 days I have noticed both my Plex docker and Unraid have been all over the place. I have had next to no issues for years and all of a sudden everything seems broke. Unraid 6.11.5

For starters, I noticed my Plex server was not available so I checked for an update and pushed one through (I always update within a week of release) before restarting my server. Plex 1.30.2.6563

From this, I continued getting intermittent Plex connectivity (available/offline every second or so). While troubleshooting, my Shares went offline and was not accessible through my Windows 10 machine and then the server itself went offline. I had to do a reboot through the CLI. I continued to get this behavior after a restart, along with random docker errors until eventually it seemed my shares have been back up for 24 hours with no issues. Yet my Plex still is either offline or I can view my library (within Plex interface) as well as navigate the shares from Windows 10, but videos don't play, and additional media does not get added, even after scanning libraries. The media within the library seems all fine, but upon clicking play I get a "Playback Error".

Additionally, when I try to access my Plex settings from the UI none of the server configurations are available. I get a "Server settings are unavailable".

    image.png.4ae54a61cccc5a2c4a2d3c34fb7124c2.png

I would say this is a Plex issue but with the weird Unraid behavior at the same time I'm not so sure, and I have no idea where to start. Any input or direction would be appreciated!

Im trying to create a Valheim server but I cant connect to it remotely. I can connect locally no problem using "add server" in game. Docker config looks the same as kjpolker, advanced docker view shows the same (bridge, minimal CPU and RAM usage). Port forward should be correct.

    image.png.ba90551ca32e87205f4b4d82c7b0621b.png

With this whole thing being fresh in my mind, while waiting for a more appropriate answer I can say double-check the following:

    • Verify the port is being forwarded to the correct IP, this can be done by hovering over the Server name in the upper right of Unraid.
    • Switch the protocol to UDP instead of BOTH. Shouldn't matter but can you forward a range 2456-2458 instead of 3 separate?
    • Regarding above, check your Firewall for Inbound/Outbound rules like the below image (and make sure it is allowed 😅)
    • Try connecting to the server via your public IP. This can be done by going to whatismyipaddress dot com or from Unraid by opening the terminal and entering the following 'wget http://ipecho.net/plain -O - -q ; echo' once that is obtained enter it within game. Example in picture below.

    image.png.c4868e623fec94f348f708b6144a7e4f.png

    image.thumb.png.ed4dd86a40d0ba1c6ac8265d99ef0813.png

It will automatically append the suffix to include :2456.

    • Thanks 1
  4. I am an idiot. I disabled my firewall and saw the server, so I knew what to look for. I had 2 Valheim rules set up in both Inbound/Outbound Rules. So when I checked numerous times I saw that the ports were forwarded through my firewall. However, upon deleting the Outbound rule up popped another outbound rule for Valheim that was red, I opened it amd saw that it had 'Block the connection' checked... Meaning I had conflicting rules that I did not notice (One set up correctly that I had previously checked, and another that was being blocked). These were never set by me to my knowledge but maybe I did at some point a long time ago, I usually never open my Firewall and trust windows to prompt me and handle it.

For anyone else experiencing issues, perhaps check your rules for the following in both Inbound/Outbound.

    image.png.730265fa82db6e72bee907a9b5b6d804.png

I do apologize for all the hassle and appreciate all the help more than you know, I will be donating.

    Thank you.

Are you sure you have all the Valheim ports forwarded for Steam?  I looked them up on Port Forward dot com and it said the following:

    • TCP: 27015, 27036
    • UDP: 2456-2457, 27015, 27031-27036

I do not believe all those are necessary, I did find that reference on one site but almost all other sources point towards 2456-2458 UDP. Nevertheless I just opened all those and no luck on Desktop.

  6. @ich777 Okay so on a second computer I was able to see the server populate in the Steam browser for a short few seconds then hide, but I CAN connect to it via there as well as within Valheim by entering the Server IP on my local network. At this point I am not sure what's going on with my desktop computer. I couldn't ask for any more information from you unless you have any expertise on what could be going on or for me to look into, I am at a loss why this would be any different... The docker seems to be fine and I do really appreciate your assistance and time. Unfortunately something seems to be off on my desktop network or configuration.

I really don't know what's going on on your system.

Please start the Valheim container, start the game itself, go to Multiplayer and click on Direct connection, enter you ServerIP:2456 (this port is needed to connect from inside the game - it should be also enough to enter only your ServerIP in game).

Tried all the following and nothing 😕 to include the ServerIP and tried my ExternalIP. I even removed all mods from my valheim game folder and reset it to new with no luck, deleted the port forwarding rule and reimplemented it. Verified in the Unraid directory the app ID and game ID was accurate. At this point I will try on another computer and see if that makes a difference.

Please keep me updated about your findings…

Can you maybe try to set up a CS Source container and see if this is working or better speaking if you can see it in the Steam Server Browser?

    Default port is 27015

CS Source showed up instantly upon forwarding the port (or perhaps coincidentally between it not showing up initially and me forwarding the port). Even more interesting...

    image.thumb.png.1fba3785f4ad783b41db3735186cf90c.png

Valheim stopped to test this (I have not made changes to Valheim since last post and it still resides at complete default settings when spooled up).

If curious, I did spool up Valheim again after this screenshot (with CS Source running), refreshed the Servers list and no difference.

    No worries at all! ;)

So still nothing in the Steam Server Browser?

Do you have maybe another computer on the network that you can try to connect to or search it?

Still nothing in the Steam Server Browser 😕 (I usually refresh it after every modification lol)

Unfortunately I don't have another computer to test with at the very moment but maybe in a few days (friend).

The container is definitely running and waiting for connections.

Are you sure that you are on the same subnet as the server? I really can't tell what's going on on your system, network.

The usage that you see on the Docker page indicates that the container is running.

What did you change in the template exactly?

Can you maybe try to delete the container and the folder "valheim" that lives in your appdata directory and pull a fresh copy from the CA App without changing anything and see if that makes a difference?

I stopped and removed the container, deleted the folder 'Valheim' in appdata on the server and reinstalled it without touching any options.

    Same subnet as well.

Apologies this seems unique. I followed several guides and posts and was never successful, I suppose this validates it's an odd one.

    EDIT:

Adding a ping from desktop computer screenshot

The server is running at least from what I see from the output from your log.

Please delet the -console parameter at the GAME_PARAMS, this would do nothing at all.

Have you yet tried if you can see it in the Steam Server Browser (View -> Servers -> Favorites -> Add Server -> enter your local server IP and the port 2458 -> click refresh twice).

How much CPU and RAM does the container use?

Is your password at least 6 characters long? I would also recommend to not use special characters!

Please follow the same procedure as posted above and check first if the container is reachable from your local network.

I removed the -console parameter, changed the password to an all lower case basic word and restarted the server. Same results, and no I have not been able to locate any servers locally trying several addresses.

    image.png.d6f999b006e5077f939f306218938587.png

I have tried in-game, out of game (image above) via the local IP as well as searching for the server in the Community, nothing at all.

As for CPU and RAM here is the following:

    image.png.db8d0c614f05db396819188ac2991302.png

I do admit memory usage is high and I can easily upgrade, it normally runs at next to none so that 80% or so is going to be the Valheim Server. However this shouldn't affect the connection side of things.

Thank you for the advice so far, not sure where to go from here, the only other thing on my Unraid server is a Plex Media Server docker which until now has been the only thing on the entire server since it has been built.

  12. Apologies if this has been worked out in another post, I have spent several hours redoing the process differently and reading a large portion of this topic but have no luck in getting a Valheim server up in Unraid.

I am running Unraid 6.11.5 and everything is up-to-date.

I have also forwarded the ports to my Unraid Server IP
